Dental veneers in Perth — porcelain & composite resin
Thin shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth to correct uneven shape, chips, gaps or discolouration. Porcelain is more durable and natural-looking; composite resin is more competitively-priced. We'll explain which suits your goals.
Custom-made veneers
Quoted after consultation
Composite resin typically more competitively-priced; porcelain is more durable and lasts up to 20-25 years
Pricing varies with the number of veneers, material choice and lab work. We discuss your goals, take measurements and give you a clear total before any work begins.
Thin shells bonded to the front of your teeth
Veneers cover the front surface of your teeth — typically made from porcelain or composite resin. They resist stains, mimic the light-reflective properties of real enamel, and are made to match your existing teeth.
Common reasons for veneers:
- Cover problem or discoloured teeth
- Close gaps between teeth
- Cover broken, chipped or worn teeth
- Improve the look of irregularly shaped, misaligned or uneven teeth
Porcelain or composite resin?
Composite resin
More competitively-priced. Typically lasts 4 to 8 years with good care. The material can chip — needs more attention to oral hygiene than porcelain.
Porcelain veneers
Higher cost, more durable. Last up to 20-25 years with good care. Doesn't affect gum tissue, more closely matches natural enamel's appearance.
For porcelain, an impression is taken and a master ceramist creates your customised veneers. On your next appointment, we attach them, check the fit, and match the colour to your existing teeth.
The three stages of veneer treatment
1. Diagnosis & planning
First consultation: discuss your goals, take x-rays, make an impression of your mouth. We confirm the expected result before any work begins.
2. Preparation
About 0.5mm is removed from the tooth enamel so the veneer sits flush with the tooth. An impression is taken and sent to the lab.
3. Bonding
At a follow-up appointment, the veneer is permanently bonded. We check fit, match colour, and polish for a natural finish.

DirectionsVeneer questions, answered
Is there any pain involved in getting veneers?
Generally a comfortable procedure. Some patients notice mild sensitivity in the 48 hours after bonding. We use local anaesthetic if needed during preparation.
How long will my veneers last?
Composite resin veneers last 4 to 8 years with good care. Porcelain veneers last up to 20-25 years with good hygiene. Avoid biting hard objects, don't grind, and brush and floss daily.
Can veneers stain?
Porcelain veneers resist stains much better than natural teeth. Composite resin veneers can stain over time — avoid overindulging in coffee, tea and red wine, and don't smoke. Brush twice daily and use antibacterial mouthwash.
Is the veneer process reversible?
No. Because a small amount of enamel is removed during preparation, the tooth will always need to be covered with a veneer or crown afterwards. We make sure you're confident in the decision before preparation begins.
What if a veneer chips or comes loose?
Some damage can be repaired on the spot. More severe damage may need the veneer replaced — we'll explain what's involved if it happens. Veneers are an artificial option and will most likely need to be replaced in the future.
What are the alternatives to veneers?
Tooth bonding or dental crowns can also improve the appearance of teeth — we'll explain the trade-offs and which best suits your goals and budget at the consultation.
