What we treat

Common emergency dental treatments

Severe toothache

Pain that wakes you up, throbs, or won't ease with over-the-counter pain relief is usually a sign of decay, an infection or a damaged nerve. We assess the cause and treat it the same day where possible.

Broken or chipped tooth

From a hairline crack to a significant break, we'll stabilise the tooth, check for nerve involvement, and rebuild it where we can with composite bonding or a crown.

Knocked-out tooth

If you've had an adult tooth knocked out, time matters. Keep the tooth moist (in milk or held inside your cheek) and call us straight away — there's a real chance we can save it.

Abscess & swelling

An abscess can spread quickly and become serious. We'll examine the area, drain pressure where appropriate, prescribe antibiotics if needed, and plan further treatment.

Lost filling or crown

A lost filling or crown can expose nerve and cause sharp pain. We'll restore the tooth or refit the crown so it's comfortable again — usually in one visit.

Trauma & injury

Knocks, falls and sports injuries can damage teeth, gums and jaw. We assess the full picture (including soft-tissue injuries) and refer on for x-ray imaging where needed.

While you're on your way to us

First steps you can take right now

These can help in the meantime — they're not a substitute for treatment. If you're in severe pain or your symptoms are getting worse, call us on (08) 9020 7222.

1Toothache

  • Rinse gently with warm salt water.
  • Use floss to clear any trapped food.
  • Take over-the-counter pain relief as directed.
  • Avoid very hot, very cold or sugary food.

2Knocked-out tooth

  • Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root.
  • If clean and intact, place it back in the socket.
  • If not, keep it moist in milk or inside your cheek.
  • Get to us as quickly as possible.

3Swelling or bleeding

  • Apply a cold pack to the outside of your cheek.
  • For bleeding, bite gently on clean gauze for 10 minutes.
  • Keep your head elevated.
  • Call us — swelling can worsen fast.

Emergency dental questions, answered

What counts as a dental emergency?

Severe or worsening pain, swelling, bleeding that won't stop, a knocked-out or badly broken tooth, or an abscess are all treated as emergencies. If you're unsure, call (08) 9020 7222 and we'll help you decide.

Can you really see me today?

We hold appointments open every day for emergencies. Same-day visits are subject to availability — calling is the fastest way to be seen.

How much will it cost?

Your first emergency visit is $349, which includes a consultation, x-rays, and one tooth extraction or a surface filling (excludes wisdom-tooth removal; for new patients on their first emergency visit). Any further treatment is explained and priced before we begin.

Will it hurt?

We use local anaesthetic for any treatment that needs it and take things at your pace. Most patients tell us the relief afterwards is much greater than any discomfort during the appointment.

What if it's outside your hours?

We're open six days a week — Mon–Thu 8am–6pm, Fri 8am–4pm, Sat 8am–2pm, closed Sundays. Outside those hours, call us anyway and we'll let you know your options.
