Dental check up + clean in Perth — every 6 months
Regular check-ups aren't just for emergencies. They catch problems early — gum disease, decay, oral cancer — when they're easiest and cost-effective to treat. We recommend every 6 months for adults, children, seniors and pregnant women.
Standard check + clean
Quoted after assessment
Includes scaling, polishing, exam, oral cancer screening. X-rays as needed.
Pricing varies with the work needed. We confirm the cost before starting.
Early detection saves teeth — and money
A professional dentist can detect and monitor changes that you can't. Early detection of gum disease, oral cancer, infected wisdom teeth and oral thrush often means simple, low-cost treatment instead of complex, expensive intervention later.
Gum disease
Early-stage gum disease usually isn't painful. A 6-monthly check catches it before it becomes serious.
Oral cancer
Begins in the mouth area. Regular screening catches it early, when it's most treatable.
Oral thrush
An infection affecting the mouth area, causing irritation and a weakened immune system. Easy to treat early.
Wisdom teeth
Erupt in the late teens or early 20s. If impacted, they become painful — we identify and remove them before infection sets in.
Your dental exam
- Health questions. Your medical history, family history, lifestyle (smoking, diet).
- Exam. Visual check for plaque, cavities, signs of periodontal disease.
- Scaling. Removal of bacteria buildup and tartar using dental tools — clean every area of your mouth.
- Polishing. Smooth teeth and remove surface stains.
- Head and neck examination. Check head, neck and jaw. Lymph nodes that are swollen may indicate other diseases.
- X-ray (if needed). Clear view of tooth structure and hidden issues like impacted wisdom teeth.

DirectionsCheck up questions, answered
How long does a check up + clean take?
10-60 minutes depending on the condition of your teeth and gums. Most regular check-ups are 20-30 minutes.
Is cleaning painful?
Scaling is usually well-tolerated. Some people experience slight discomfort. Tell us if anything's uncomfortable — we'll adjust.
Will I get an x-ray every time?
Usually only on the first visit and then as needed. We won't repeat x-rays unnecessarily.
Does deep cleaning whiten teeth?
Scaling removes bacteria and tartar, which makes teeth look lighter and cleaner. Ask about whitening if you want a more dramatic effect.
Can I eat after a deep clean?
Yes. Avoid very hot or cold food for a few hours — your mouth may be more sensitive.
Can a dental check spot diabetes or other diseases?
Yes — dry mouth and swollen gums can be early signs of diabetes. Check-ups can also reveal signs of heart disease, kidney disease, osteoporosis and other systemic conditions.
What should I do between check-ups?
Brush twice daily, floss regularly, use mouthwash. If pain or symptoms appear, don't wait for the next 6-monthly check — call us.
